Where we work
If your town or village is on this list, we cover it. If it is not, call us anyway: we work across Lancashire and the South Lakes.
Lancaster
The city itself, on both banks of the Lune: Victorian and Edwardian stone terraces under natural slate, inter-war semis with clay and concrete tiles, and newer estates on the edges.
- Lancaster
- Skerton
- Scotforth
- Bowerham
- Greaves
- Marsh
- Galgate
Morecambe and the bay
We are based on White Lund, between Lancaster and Morecambe. Roofs along the bay take salt wind and driving rain, which finds tired ridges, hips and flashing sooner than it would inland.
- Morecambe
- Heysham
- Bare
- Torrisholme
- Hest Bank
- Slyne
- Bolton-le-Sands
- Overton
Carnforth and the Lune Valley
North to Carnforth and Silverdale, and east along the Lune through Halton and Caton, where farmhouses and barns often carry heavy stone or Westmorland slate.
- Halton
- Caton
- Brookhouse
- Hornby
- Carnforth
- Warton
- Silverdale
Into the South Lakes
Over the county boundary into south Cumbria, where slate roofs and exposed sites are the norm.
- Burton-in-Kendal
- Milnthorpe
- Arnside
- Kirkby Lonsdale
- Kendal
- Grange-over-Sands

Lancaster, the bay and the South Lakes
Lancaster sits at the centre of our patch, with Morecambe Bay to the west and the Lakes to the north.
Local roofs
Different places, different roofs
A reroof in the middle of Lancaster is rarely the same job as one in Silverdale or Kirkby Lonsdale. City terraces share party walls and chimney stacks, so the leadwork and the join with next door matter as much as the slates. On the coast, fixings and ridges have to stand up to wind off the bay. In the Lune Valley and the South Lakes, older roofs are often laid in heavy stone or Westmorland slate in courses that get smaller towards the ridge, and they need re-laying by someone who knows how.
If your home is listed or in a conservation area, and Lancaster has plenty of both, the choice of roof covering may need the council's agreement. We can help you work out what will be acceptable before you commit to anything.
